RI&E
Workplace risks
Risico’s op de werkvloer. Workplace risks: as an employer, you understand the inherent challenges of running a business better than everybody else. What if an employee experiences an accident? What if someone must take time off due to work-related physical issues? And then there are the risks associated with the use of hazardous materials—potential delays, unforeseen costs, and even reputational damage to your company. Identifying and managing these risks is a crucial responsibility that no employer should underestimate.
Risk inventory and evaluation.
That’s precisely the purpose of the Risk Inventory and Evaluation (RI&E). This process helps pinpoint the health and safety risks faced by both employers and employees. Subsequently, measures are implemented to mitigate these risks, resulting in an action plan that includes improvement proposals. The primary goal of the RI&E is to minimize existing risks and prevent potential accidents and incidents. This not only alleviates headaches for employers but also fosters a pleasant and safe working environment for employees. Conducting the RI&E in a correct way is therefore of crucial importance.
Prevention is better than cure!
Don’t wait for risks to materialize before addressing them. A robust RI&E enables you to tackle problems proactively, preventing issues before they arise!
Our role in the RI&E
The success of the RI&E hinges on a thorough preliminary investigation. If risks are not identified or are inaccurately assessed, the effectiveness of the action plan diminishes significantly. We are there to assist you in creating this RI&E. With our health and safety expertise, we can guide you and make necessary adjustments, ensuring that the RI&E is both substantial and valuable. If you have any questions about this process, feel free to contact us today without any further obligations.
Obligations around RI&E
According to the Working Conditions Act (Arbowet), nearly every entrepreneur with staff in the Netherlands is obligated to develop an RI&E. This involves having a certified expert examine health and safety risks. The requirement for testing the RI&E depends on the size of your organization. Companies with up to 25 employees are exempt from testing if they use an approved industry-specific RI&E. Additionally, organizations with a maximum of 40 work hours per week are not required to undergo testing. If you have any uncertainties about how the RI&E works, feel free to contact us. We’re more than happy to discuss the process with you!
